Some of the posts tagged “Amanda Todd” are horrible. No one deserves to be bullied. I don’t care what they did, no one deserves to be bullied, cyber stalked, or physically hurt. It is never ok. It is never “kids are cruel” or “I don’t condone it but…”
These kids bullied her until she couldn’t take it anymore and she killed herself. She took her own life because of the constant pain. She couldn’t get away from it because that asshole kept finding her and friending people at every new school she went to.
Even if she had pressed charges against the girl that punched her, she still would have people harassing her about it.
How is bullying ever ok? How can you say that when it led to someone’s death?
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family of Amanda Todd. May her life be remembered and may her death sound an alarm. Everyone deserves a life of love & peace. Amanda deserved that. In honor of her, we say again: You matter. You’re not alone.
I can’t believe kids did this to her. There is no humanity in it.
I was bullied in middle school and I found two friends who saved me. They were always there for me. They stood up for me. Never underestimate the power of a single friendship. Never underestimate how much reaching out to someone can help; a sincere “are you ok?” and a remark that what happened isn’t right can make a huge difference.
If you watch her video, there is a potentially triggering self harm photo at the end. If you stop the video when she reaches to turn off the camera, you should miss the photo.
